I am excited to present the most diverse children's book. It is inclusive and celebrates individuals who don't look the same, but they Love The Same.
My business is my dream and passion. I Love what I do!
It has taken me ten years to publish this book. In that journey, life taught me to love myself foremost.
My Welcome:
Hello and welcome to my author page.
I am a Sister, Mother, Auntie-(Popo), and a Grandmother-(Grand). I am 58 years old. I enjoy making things with my hands. I love to feel the earth between my toes while working in my garden. I live in the city, but I am a country girl at heart. I love to cook, especially veggies from my garden, and I make a mean loaf of sourdough bread. I make my jams, pickles, salsa, sundried tomatoes, and I recently started making my Kombucha. I make artisan soaps, natural jewelry, wreaths, and I have a product line of natural body care items, Sister Products. My life is filled with Passion, Joy, and Happiness that she and my dad taught me. I had Loving parents, not perfect parents, who taught me to love myself and others. Their love for me made it possible for me to love with sincerity, and to them, I am eternally grateful.
I have a love for people who are Different. In our society, the focus is given to people who are different; however, that focus is seldom positive. At times, it can be not kind. I have experienced the cruelty first hand as a child, and I will never forget those feelings. My writings support individuals who are different, whether it be race, gender, sexuality, or religion. Everyone deserves Love and Happiness. I sincerely desire that you feel my love in everything I make and do.
It is my absolute desire that the simplicity of my books uplifts you. I want you to experience the lightheartedness of these books that would take you into SweetPea’s adventures. I designed my book so that any child -no matter their race or sex - would see someone that looks like them. The notion of family members looking alike is not today’s reality. In my immediate family, we have seven different ethnic groups, and we don’t all look the same, but we Love the same. I am careful to be inclusive but not perfect. We need to look past race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. We must begin to see each other beyond our differences and see that we are simply one people on the face of this earth.
Perhaps, in my small way, these books will be a part of this change the world so dearly needs.
